Before you pick up your little one we will be sure they have just eaten for their trip home.
If you have a number of hours to drive though it is a good idea to keep a dish of pellets and seed in the cage just in case they get hungry. For short trips water is not necessary since budgies do not drink very much water. |
If you have a long trip home though, rather than putting a dish of water in the cage that can potentially spill or get your baby wet we suggest putting some diced veggies in an easy to reach dish. This way there is no worry about anything spilling, and the baby will get the moisture from the veggies. |
If you are picking up your baby in the colder months you will need a nice heavy blanket or towel large enough to put over the cage to keep cold air, rain and snow out of the cage. Having the car nice and warm before leaving is a very good idea too!
During the warm months making sure that the baby does not get over heated is very important as well. When having air conditioning on for the trip home, make sure that it is not blowing directly at the cage causing a cold draft. |
